General Nursing School Prerequisites

The National Council Licensure Examination is required in order for an individual to work as a nurse. This examination is required of all vocational, registered, and practical nurses. Each county may have a different national examination that is required. In addition, the laws for state licenses will vary based on the state and typically there are state examinations required for licensing as well.
